And don't forget, the everyday things you do together make a big difference and can help your child grow up healthier and happier
- Mix together 1½ cups of flour, yeast, sugar and salt and put to the side. In a separate pan, heat the water, milk and butter over a medium heat and add the mixture you set aside earlier. Now stir in the egg and gradually stir in the remaining flour to bind the mixture together. Next, knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes and then cover and leave to rest for 10 minutes.
- Lightly grease a baking tray and heat oven to 400F. Now shape a 2-inch piece of dough into a ball for the turtle’s head, four walnut-size pieces of dough into balls for feet and shape another walnut-size piece for a turtle tail. Attach these parts to his body and press the raisins into his head for eyes. Cover with cling-film and leave the dough to rise in a warm place for 20 minutes. Make ¼-inch-deep circular cut around top edge of body. Then make criss-cross cuts in the middle to make a turtle shell pattern. Finally, bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
