Children love playing games with Dad. With this traditional game, you can find out who’s the really strong one in the family!

What you need

A rope (a skipping rope will do)

A jumper

Develops balance, flexibility and coordination

Builds muscle and strength

Learning through watching and copying others

Encourages teamwork and cooperation with others

And don’t forget, the everyday things you do together make a big difference and can help your child to grow up healthier and happier.

How long will it take?

An afternoon

What to do

  1. Place the jumper in between you both.

    dad and child outside
  2. Each of you holds one end of the rope and gently tugs. The “winner” is the person who tugs the other person over the jumper. Invite brothers, sisters, friends, mums, granddads, grannies to join in too - you’ll soon be rolling around with laughter.
